About Atmaurium & The Magnificus Princeps Scientia Uriel de’Bauauri

Brief Introduction

Our late Founder and Chief of State, The Magnificent Prince Uriel Bey, re-established the Kingdom of Atmaurium as part of the Moorish Empire in 2011.

Atmaurium as a Kingdom, has many splintered geographical locations and boundaries including one at 43 degrees North Latitude and 77.5 degrees West Longitude – NW of the Atlantic Coast, on the continent of America, bound between Alaska and Argentina along with multiple territories within that boundary. Today, the primary location of Atmaurium (Atmauri) is situated off the coast of Tuscany Italy, an island also known as Giannutri, in the Tyrrhenian Sea. This is the intended location of our Principalities, the House (Palace) of Atmaurium and it’s Embassy. Giannutri was known as Dianium by the Romans and ArtemisiaΑρτεμησία by the Greeks; it has a crescent moon shape which forms the Gulf of Spalmatoio and is placed at 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south east from the Isola del Giglio and 17.6 kilometres (10.9 mi) from Porto Ercole.

The Island (Giannutri), according to written record, was first populated by Ancient Poenicium / Gaetuli / Atmauri as early as 3000BC. It was first invaded by Romans during the Infamous Punic wars with Poenicium (Carthage), where they held it until it’s sway began to wane between the Second and Third Punic Battles. Fast-forwarding to during the 7th Century AD, King Charles V purchased several Atmauri land titles and Kingdoms from Caliph Abdallah es – Zaghal in Latinum, who made the Ancestor of Princeps Uriel Bey, Alessandro de’ Medici, also known as “Il Moro” (The Moor), was the first Duke of Florence and ruled from 1530 until his death in 1537.
